Baked Milanesa

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs wafer thin beef
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • ½ tsp parsley
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions

  • Set out two plates and a shallow bowl. Sprinkle flour, onion salt and pepper on one plate. Sprinkle bread crumbs on the other.
  • In the bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dredge meat in flour, then egg mixture, then coat in bread crumbs. Place on baking sheet. Repeat with remaining meat.
  • Spray milanesas with a thin layer of oil. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until bottoms are golden brown.
  • Flip and bake on the reverse side for 10 more minutes. Serve warm with lemon wedges.

Notes

Notes:
You may need more or less flour, breadcrumbs, or egg depending on the size of your beef cutlets. 
Variations:
Milanesa Napolitana: Top the cooked milanesa with tomato sauce, ham and mozzarella cheese. Bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Milanesa a Caballo: Prepare a fried egg and place it on top of the cooked milanesa.
