If you’re anything like me, you accidentally make meatless meals all the time, but when it comes to Fridays during Lent, suddenly every dish you can think of contains meat. I’ve compiled a few meal ideas below if you’re in the same predicament.

Easter Breakfast Ideas

Strawberry Shortcake
Start Easter off right with a special, springy breakfast! Homemade biscuits topped with freshly whipped cream and juicy strawberries- it’s a delicious way to start the holiday. Here’s my recipe.

Almond or Pistachio Croissants
These croissants look super fancy, but they’re quite simple to make. The secret is to use store bought croissants, then make the filling yourself. They make for an amazing, impressive Easter breakfast.

Orange Rolls
A light, zesty, springy twist on cinnamon rolls, these are a great Easter option. Even better, you can prepare them the night before and bake in the morning. One less thing to do on Easter day! Get me orange roll recipe here.

Chocolate Milk
Make Easter breakfast extra special with a special drink, too! My chocolate milk recipe is as simple as it is delicious.
Easter Appetizers

Asparagus Tart
This is another simple recipe thanks to frozen puff pastry. Due to the bright green hue from cooked asparagus, it’s also a great Easter appetizer. Get the recipe.

Bruschetta
This sweet balsalmic bruschetta is delicious. It is great paired with pizza, pasta, fish, or enjoyed on its own!

Empanadas
Empanadas are a classic Argentine dish. They’re yummy little hand pies that can be filled with just about anything. While traditionally stuffed with savory fillings like cheese, onions, and meat, you can also fill them with fruit preserves and serve them as dessert. Find the recipe here.

Pretzels
Served with fun sauces (like marinara or nacho cheese), these are a super fun, special appetizer. Find my soft pretzel recipe here.

Pea Soup
This creamy, bright green soup screams Easter to me. Pea soup is a breeze to make and has plenty of protein. It pairs well with ham and makes a great appetizer or side.

French Onion Galette
This recipe turns a comforting soup into a delicious pastry. Complete with gooey cheese and a buttery crust, it’s a delicious appetizer.
Easter Desserts

Rosemary Ice Cream
This ice cream flavour is unexpected and delicious. Homemade ice cream is a wonderful way to celebrate Easter. Bonus: rosemary honors Our Lady (rose – mary… get it?).

Arroz con Leche
This is my husband’s favourite dessert. A sweet rice pudding, its a yummy, comforting dessert. You can also serve it warm for (an extra sweet) breakfast!

Coconut Nests
These festive cookies are a breeze to make and delicious. With candy eggs placed in the middle they look just like bird nests! You can find the recipe here.

Brownies
This blog post tells you all the secret hacks to make boxed brownies perfectly fudgy, crinkly and DELICIOUS!

Bailey’s Ice Cream
This boozy Bailey’s flavoured ice cream is delicious and indulgent. Get the recipe.

Rosemary Shortbread
Rosemary makes another appearance. These buttery rosemary shortbread cookies are delightful. They melt in your mouth. They’re small and not too sweet, which makes them a great cookie to have around if you’re hosting on Easter. Get the recipe.
